Click marathon squad goes the distance for kids' charity raising an outstanding £15,000

LEGS eleven proved a lucky number for children's charity VICTA last Sunday when the team from Farnham company Click crossed the finishing line of the Flora London Marathon with £15,000 in the pot.

Actually, it was 22 legs that pounded the pavement on an unseasonably warm April day to raise funds for Visually Impaired Children Taking Action, which provides support and activities for sight-impaired children and their families.

"I'm immensely proud of everyone who took part," said Click Managing Director Steve Teague.

"We have a great team spirit at Click so it was natural for us to get together and step up to the challenge. This was my sixth time and covering the 26.2 miles never gets any easier, but the feeling you get when you finally cross the line with the crowds cheering you on is indescribable.

Entering the London Marathon has now become a tradition at Click, with an impressive £25,000 raised last year for VICTA.

"The team was smaller this year but we are keen to build it up again for 2008 and see if we can beat this year's total," said Steve. "We are always looking for new talent to join our life cover and loans divisions and if they are willing to get their trainers on, all the better!"
