A day in the life of Adam Warriner, Paid Media Executive
This month, we catch up with data enthusiast and table tennis fan, Adam Warriner, from our Paid Media team…
Describe your role as a Paid Media Executive
My role as a Paid Media Executive is split into two parts: Paid Search and Paid Social. This means I write and manage ads across search platforms like Google and Bing, as well as social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
What does a typical day of work involve?
My day-to-day tasks have mostly remained the same. I say my virtual good morning to the team and then crack on checking the spend and performance of my clients – seeing how their performance has changed overnight, and if there are any quick optimisation opportunities. I say with a heavy heart that I no longer spend my lunchtimes playing table tennis with my fellow co-workers! Instead, I’ll usually listen to music, read a book, and fawn over my plants. My afternoons tend to focus on more build work: new campaigns, strategies etc, as well as any meetings.
Do you have any tips for working from home?
The biggest thing I think people can benefit from is separating their space. If you can, reserve an area specifically for work. Keep your work out of the living room, or wherever you relax, so your mind can make the distinction between the two.
What’s the most challenging part of the role?
Both Paid Search and Paid Social are ever-evolving. Google, Facebook, LinkedIn – they are all constantly coming out with new updates, betas and tools for us to use. Staying on top of this can be quite daunting, but the team do an excellent job keeping up with it all. It’s always fun discussing how we can use the new features, or sharing how new optimisation methods have affected performance.

Which area of your role interests you the most?
I’ve always been a big fan of analysing data and seeing how different ad copy or different bid strategies affect campaign performance. I enjoy working with that data to uncover the best solution for that campaign or account.
As well as that, being part of the wider Paid Media team is great. Everyone is constantly sharing tips and tricks, and helping upskill each other so we can all do the best job possible.
How would you describe working at Click to a friend?
I’m yet to find a good way to describe my job – people go away thinking I work for Google!
Finally, the ubiquitous question at Click Consult: rock and roll or sausage roll?
I hate to admit it… but I’m not a huge sausage roll fan. Rock’n’roll all the way!
