Click Consult sponsors the Claire House Black & Gold Ball

Oct 13th, 2014

Tears, laughter and champagne toasts. This was the scene at Chester Racecourse’s Pavilion Suite on Friday evening, where we attended the long-awaited Claire House Black & Gold Ball

After a good catch up with fellow attendees and our friends at Claire House during the drinks reception, we took to our seats to listen to the opening speeches.

The chatter dimmed to silence when Claire House’s Angella Rawsthorne thanked attendees for their continued support and delivered an emotional speech about the care her family received when her son was ill some years ago, from a hospice similar to Claire House. Angella, who organised the ball, described the work that the dedicated staff do at the hospice and the difference the charity makes to so many lives.

Next, Gemma and Craig, the parents of three year old Isabelle delivered a heart-rending speech about their daughter who is being cared for at the hospice. They spoke of the life-changing support the whole family receives and there was not a dry eye in the house.

Without events like the Black & Gold Ball and without the support of those who sponsor and support the charity, Claire House would be unable to provide such fantastic support

But this wasn’t an evening of doom and gloom – it was about celebrating Claire House’s ability to provide palliative and end-of-life care to these children and their families when they need it most. Without events like the Black & Gold Ball and without the support of those who sponsor and support the charity, Claire House would be unable to provide such fantastic support. This was an evening to celebrate the dedicated staff and the generous supporters who help to make Claire House such a success and of course, to raise more money to fund the charity’s life-changing work.

The rest of the evening included a delicious three-course meal, live music, a raffle and an auction.  Our CEO & Founder, Matt Bullas, donated four tickets to Click’s Manchester United Executive Box, which were auctioned off for £2,000 and a round of golf with Paul Waring, a top 200 World European Golfer and Lee Martin, an Ex Manchester United player. In total, we raised £2,800 for Claire House throughout the course of the evening.

And the ball itself? That raised a total of an impressive £32,000.
